Pokémon Night Out at London’s O2 Arena: date, tickets and what to expect from this first-of-its-kind event

by · Time Out London

Grab your trainer cap and make sure your Pikachu is at full HP as Pokémon fans will be attending a different kind of event in London next month. The Pokémon Company International (TPCi) is holding a first-of-its-kind event at London’s O2. Billed as Pokémon Night Out, thousands of Pokémon fans (‘trainers’) will be attending a live music show in which they’ll see ‘Pokémon and dance music collide’.

It will mark the first time that Pokémon puts music at the forefront of an event here in the UK. Rather than focusing on the Pokémon trading card game or video games, TPCi will deliver a one-off night built around dance music, all to celebrate Pokémon’s 30th anniversary.

This party is one of two adult-centric live music Pokémon events. The first took place at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles in October, revealing that there’s a lot in store for attendees when it arrives in Great Britain. Here’s everything you need to know

When is Pokémon Night Out at London’s O2?

Put it in your diaries – the event is happening on November 10 2026.

Who is playing at the Pokémon Night Out?

The O2 Arena is one of the largest live music venues in the country and TPCi has enlisted two of the biggest names in dance music to entertain trainers at Pokémon Night Out.

First up is Alison Wonderland. The Australian DJ has garnered an incredible amount of fame during her 18-year career, becoming Coachella’s highest-billed female DJ in the process. She has not performed in the UK in some time, last appearing in the country back in 2020 at London’s E1 nightclub.

Headlining the night is Marshmello. This will be the Grammy Award-nominated DJ’s first show in the country since 2018. He previously played some festivals in the UK, as well as a headline gig at the O2 Academy Brixton. He’s garnered billions of plays on Spotify with songs such as ‘Happier’ and ‘Silence’. Now, with the O2 in Marshmello’s sights, he revealed he’s planned out something ‘very special’ for Pokémon fans.

What can fans expect from the Pokémon Night Out?

Details of what exactly is going on during Pokémon Night Out had been wrapped in secrecy until very recently. After the first event in Los Angeles, thousands of fans posted videos of the rave-like show on social media with more excitement than a Jigglypuff with a mic.

The setlist includes a number of Pokémon theme songs remixed with dubstep and dance hooks, as well as original songs aided by jaw-dropping visuals. Alison Wonderland’s remixes of the seminal ‘Lavender Town’ (along with footage from Pokémon Red and Blue) and ‘Gotta Catch ‘Em All’ songs have been extremely well-received. On top of that, some unbelievable visuals were shown of popular ‘mons, including Gastly, Haunter and Gengar in a graveyard, Kyogre and Groudon battling it out, and Mewtwo levitating above Marshmello – all of which were teased in the the original trailer for Night Out.

These videos and visual narratives coincide with Marshmello’s previous comments in which he teased his involvement in the show’s design. He said attendees ought to ‘expect the unexpected’. He went on: ‘I have something super, super special I'm planning and curating for you guys,’ adding he’ll play ‘a very special curated unique set for everybody there, too […] it has been really fun to work off the visual moments we have’.

Alison Wonderland concurred in an X post: ‘I’m gonna have special Pokémon visuals and song edits just for these shows. As you know I’m a huge Pokémon fan so I am FREAKING OUT.’ [sic]

TPCi said Pokémon Night Out will ‘transform The O2 [...] into an arena-scale Pokémon party with state-of-the-art technology and effects’. It added: ‘Marshmello and Alison Wonderland have created exclusive, never-before-heard sets, brought to life through bespoke Pokémon visuals and a spectacular live production.’

As with every Pokémon event around the world, there are a lot of elements to each celebration. On top of the fans coming out in full force with costumes and accessories, one of the biggest aspects of these gatherings is merchandise. Pokémon Night Out is no different, with an on-site store that will sell exclusive clothes, plushes, products and cards. The official details state: ‘Exclusive commemorative Pokémon Night Out merchandise will also be available in limited quantities on site at the shows.’ An online store has recently gone live selling the merchandise too.

What’s more, it was recently confirmed that Pokémon GO players will be able to enjoy exclusive content at the O2 during the event. These include rewards such as exclusive Lure Modules, raids, Timed Research Tasks, avatar outfits and the opportunity to catch a number of shiny Pokémon, including Pikachu, Gengar, Zorua, Froakie, Rookidee and more.

Ahead of the shows, fans are already ecstatic about the inaugural Pokémon Night Out. Rach, 31, from West Yorkshire, confirmed she’s interested in the one-off party because it offers ‘something unique’. She went on: ‘I’m always up for fun experiences that mix the fun parts of being an adult with the nostalgia of childhood - this seems a perfect amalgamation!’

As a Pokémon fan, Rach is attending with her friends. But did the dance music aspect of the evening originally interest her? ‘I am definitely here for Pokémon,’ she said. ‘But I grew up on the likes of Skrillex and Knife Party … [it] kinda comes with the elder-emo territory.’

On expectations of the night, Rach said: ‘I want to see folk dressed up, like a night out but I wanna see Pokémon incorporated into the outfit! I’m hoping for a good ol’ dance, with a Pokémon light show.’
