Two firefighters injured, family displaced in Fort Worth house fire

Two Fort Worth firefighters were hospitalized after injuries sustained battling a house fire late Monday night.

Two Fort Worth firefighters were hospitalized after injuries sustained battling a house fire late Monday night.

Fire officials said crews were called out to the 7600 block of Crowley Road on the city's south side at 10:41 p.m. When they got there, they were met with smoke coming from the two-story home.

Fire officials said firefighters were making their way to the second floor to attack the fire. They were then met with a sudden burst of heat and flames. Wind gusts at the time were up to 25 miles per hour.

A mayday call was issued, followed by a second alarm called in.

Two firefighters battling the blaze were taken to the hospital with burns. They are stable at the hospital as of early Tuesday morning.

As for the people living in the home, three adults have been displaced.

The Red Cross is now assisting them.
