Saudi Lime announces new Audit Committee for upcoming board term

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Lime Industries Company has announced the formation of its Audit Committee for the forthcoming Board of Directors term.

Following a resolution by the Board, the committee has been established to serve a four-year tenure beginning on 21 July 2026 until 20 July 2030, according to a bourse filing.

The appointments represent a strategic blend of internal board representation and external independent expertise, aimed at strengthening the company’s governance, risk management, and financial oversight frameworks.

The newly formed committee consists of three distinguished professionals with extensive backgrounds in finance, industrial management, and internal auditing. The appointments were finalized during a Board of Directors meeting held on 29 June 2026.

Abdulaziz Tariq Al Bassam has been appointed as a non-executive member of the committee.

Al Bassam brings significant leadership experience in the industrial, mining, and commercial sectors. He currently serves as the Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the General Equipment Company and holds board positions at both Saudi Lime and the Saudi Industrial Gas Company. His academic credentials include a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the American University of Beirut and an MBA from London Business School.

Professionally, Al Bassam holds the CME1-A B Securities Dealing Certificate from the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment and a professional disclosure certificate from the Financial Academy.

Joining the committee as an external member is Saleh Abdullah Al Yahya, who is recognized for his extensive expertise in supervising audit operations, accounting, and financial management across various sectors.

As a founding partner of the Al Lhuhaid and Al Yahya Academy, Al Yahya possesses deep technical knowledge of audit methodologies and project management. His career has been defined by managing large client portfolios and fostering relationships within the Saudi business community through specialized financial and operational skills.

The third member, also an external appointee, is Younis Abdulkarim Ishan, whoe is a specialist in internal audit, governance, and risk management with over fifteen years of professional experience. He has led internal audit departments across government, semi-government, and private sector entities, including roles in aviation, insurance, financial services, and retail.

Ishan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from King Abdulaziz University and a Master’s degree in the same field from Eastern Michigan University. Furthermore, he has completed executive programs in financial statements and leadership at Harvard Business School and is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) through the Institute of Internal Auditors.

The formation of this committee aligns with Saudi Arabia’s regulatory requirements for listed companies, ensuring that the oversight of financial reporting and internal controls is managed by qualified individuals.

By integrating members with diverse backgrounds in infrastructure, mining, and international financial standards, Saudi Lime Industries aims to maintain high levels of transparency and compliance throughout the 2026–2030 board cycle.

The committee will be responsible for monitoring the company’s financial statements, overseeing the work of internal and external auditors, and ensuring the effectiveness of the firm’s internal control systems.
