Dolly Parton’s manager files restraining order against her nephew and former head of security
by Juliet La Sala · The Washington TimesDolly Parton’s longtime manager has filed a restraining order against her nephew, accusing the former head of security of making threats against the late country music legend’s properties and personnel.
Danny Nozell, who runs Parton’s management company, She’s Alive, dismissed Bryan Seaver as head of security on Sept. 15.
In a court filing Tuesday in Tennessee, Mr. Nozell accuses Mr. Seaver of engaging in a campaign of coercion, extortion and violent threats that left employees and associates of Parton’s management company and trust fearing for their safety.
According to the filing, Mr. Seaver said he would “destroy the entire brand,” threaten business partners tied to Parton’s Dollywood theme park and describe himself as “an international arms dealer and mercenary,” using multiple expletives.
He also allegedly threatened Parton’s entertainment attorney and said he would launch a podcast aimed at damaging Parton’s brand partnerships unless he was paid.
The filing claims the threats have caused harm, including the resignation of an estate attorney and other employees.
Mr. Seaver was tasked with publicly announcing his aunt’s death in an Instagram video last month. Parton died Aug. 25 after a battle with cancer at age 80.
