Texas Pharmacy Owner Ran Healthcare Scam To Finance Movie Career

A Dallas Man With Dreams Of Being A Hollywood Power Player Is Now Headed To Prison.

Just about everybody is chasing a dream of some sort and some folks will do anything to make theirs come true...including crime. Prosecutors say a Dallas pharmacy owner used millions he made in stolen cash to fund a lavish lifestyle and Hollywood career.

37-year-old Ivor Jallah was trying to make it as a Hollywood director and screenplay writer.

Jallah and his partner Shannon Turley operated at least nine Texas pharmacies according to authorities but Jallah was focused on becoming a star and it looked like that mission was getting accomplished.

He is credited on IMDB as a screen writer for a film titled "Grand Isle" which stars Nicolas Cage and Kelsey Grammer which you can watch the movie in its entirety FOR FREE on YouTube below.

But Jallah and Turley were actually running a healthcare scam out of their pharmacies where they allegedly submitted at least $46 million in bogus claims to insurance companies and they in turn spent the money on their lavish lifestyle.

Jallah used the money to buy land, luxury vehicles and more.

Federal investigators found that they received about $41 Million from insurance scams where they would allegedly pay "marketers" for insured patients’ personal info and they allegedly paid doctors to fraudulently stamp prescription forms. Ten additional defendants have pleaded guilty to their roles in the prescription scheme.

Jallah was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison this week. Turley is scheduled to be sentenced next month.
