Another One Bites The Dust: Why Signs Are Going Up At An Amarillo Retail Giant

It seems like every time we turn around, something else is closing in Amarillo. The unpredictable ups and downs of gas prices and the rising cost of inventory have been hurting a lot of Amarillo businesses.

I learned about the latest closing in Amarillo from a friend who sent a text about it.

So I was curious about that. I knew we had an OfficeMax on Soncy Road and an Office Depot on Georgia Street, which are both owned by the same parent company.  I decided to drive by the Office Depot on Georgia to see if it was both locations.

The Georgia Street Status: One Location Avoids The Cut

The Office Depot on Georgia had no signage, and it looked to be business as usual, so I knew that location was safe. So it had to be just the Office Max on Soncy. I decided to drive by and check it out for myself.

When I got there, I didn't see any guy holding a sign, but the evidence was there that Office Max was definitely closing. There were signs all over the parking lot and the building itself. They also made it clear that this was the only location closing.

The Georgia Street location was safe. If you are one who uses a lot of business supplies, whether it's for home use or you own a small business, you can take advantage of this closing. The deals will keep getting better.

Stocking Up On A Budget: Liquidation Details And Discounts

Right now, everything inside the Soncy store is marked down by 30 percent, and that markdown even includes the store fixtures. Though this is another store closing in Amarillo, at least we still have the Office Depot location.
