El Paso’s Biggest Christmas Light Show Returns With Free Events
· NewsTalk 1290Last year felt like a holiday miracle for El Pasoans when the iconic Fred Loya Christmas Light Show officially made its grand return to the family’s eastside home after partnering with Lights on the Lake at Ascarate.
For two years, people weren’t sure if the tradition would ever come back home again. But when news broke that Fred Loya had ended the partnership, the big question hanging in the holiday air was: “Will the light show return to the house?”
Thankfully, the answer came straight from Project Manager Scott Brown himself who sent over a message last year after the news was announced. The Fred Loya Light Show Takes Months To Prepare
Scott Brown and his team spend over a month prepping for the show each year, decking out the property with nearly 800,000 lights! (I’m still curious to see their electric bill.)
Since 2006, Brown has poured his heart into this project, reminding everyone that the magic has always been about the community. “It’s always been about the kids and the people of El Paso,” he shared. “It’s never been branded as Fred Loya’s show, even though everyone knows it’s his house.”
