Dutch authorities take down Motherless, porn site known for sexual abuse videos

The Dutch authorities took down the porn site Motherless late last night, the Public Prosecution Service (OM) confirmed to NOS. Among other things, the site is known for videos of sexual abuse, including of men abusing unconscious women, along with tips on how to drug your partner.

The OM is currently conducting a preliminary investigation, a spokesperson told the broadcaster. “The OM took action following reporting by NOS,” the spokesperson said.

Research by NOS showed that the tag “incest” was the third most popular category on the website, after “teen” and "amateur” in the past week. Over 1,000 videos with the “incest” tag were viewed a total of 60 million times.

The most viewed video on Motherless this past week had the tags “incest” and “rape,” in combination with “school girl” and “sister.” That video received 4.2 million views.

Motherless was hosted by the Dutch company Nforce in Roosendaal. The company saw no reason to take the site offline. Owner Simon Shlomi Elimeleh told NRC that neither he nor his company interferes with the content or management of the sex abuse site. “The responsibility lies solely with the site administrator.”

“NForce understands that online discussions can raise concerns about certain websites and the content on them,” Elimeleh said, adding that NForce, as an “infrastructure provider, does not make decisions based on public opinion, but on laws, rules, and contracts.”

The OM took the site offline on Sunday night. Investigation by NOS and Nieuwsuur showed that Motherless’s IP addresses have been unreachable since 10:30 p.m. on Thursday. The OM has launched a preliminary investigation into the website.

“This is exactly what is needed with a site like this,” Robbert Hoving of Offlimits, an expert agency on online abuse, told NOS. This year alone, Offlimits received 142 reports regarding no fewer than 12,000 videos on Motherless. 25 of those reports involved images of child sexual abuse. “I consider this a very good action by the OM. Because we must not tolerate the law being broken, also not online.”

Motherless will likely pop back online via some other route in the future. The website’s domain name is not registered in the Netherlands and could be linked to new servers.
