Woman rescued from house fire south of Everett

A woman was seriously injured in a house fire Monday morning near Lake Stickney, south of Everett, according to South County Fire officials.

Firefighters responded around 8:30 a.m. to a house on fire in the 13800 block of 20th Place West. Crews found the woman, believed to be in her 70s, in a bedroom and pulled her from the building, according to a news release.

She was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett in serious condition. No other injuries were reported.

The fire was extinguished within 30 minutes, with flames contained to one part of the home. Smoke caused damage throughout the building. The cause of the fire remained under investigation Monday.
