Ergonomic Seating Demand Reshapes Australia's Office Furniture Market
Ergonomic seating has moved to the centre of office procurement decisions across Australia, backed by sustained market growth and shifting workplace priorities. According to Research and Markets, the Australian office furniture market for chairs reached US$672 million (approximately AU$1.05 billion) in 2025, and is forecast to grow at a compound annual rate of 3.49 per cent through to 2031. Mordor Intelligence reinforces that picture, placing chairs at 35.55 per cent of the total Australian office furniture market in 2025 - the largest single segment and the one recording the strongest projected growth. That trajectory reflects a broader recognition among employers that seating is a productivity and wellness investment, not merely a fitout line item.
