Dutch grid operators to offer compensation for home batteries that ease evening peaks
Dutch grid operators, including Enexis, Liander, and Stedinbegan, began paying energy suppliers on Monday an availability fee for keeping home batteries, heat pumps and electric vehicle charges. The aim is to discharge or reduce energy consumption during evening peak hours in congested areas, RTL reports. The payments apply only to devices that selected suppliers can control remotely in parts of Gelderland, Flevoland, Utrecht, and the eastern part of Noord-Brabant.
