Super Mario Galaxy 2 update adds new story to Rosalina’s storybook

Super Mario Galaxy 2 has been updated to Version 1.4.0 on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. The update includes unspecified bug fixes and gameplay adjustments, and surprisingly, without any prior announcement, the update also adds a brand new story to Rosalina’s storybook. After you’ve unlocked the Final Chapter of the base game story, the newly added story will become available after clearing any Galaxy and earning a Power Star. The contents of the new story are unknown, but we suspect it could be related to The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.

• Several issues have been fixed and adjustments made to ensure a smoother gaming experience on both Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch.
• A new story has been added to the storybook. Once Final Chapter is available in the storybook, you can read the new story by clearing any galaxy and earning a Power Star.

Note: The software must be updated to Ver. 1.2.0 or later to play on Nintendo Switch 2.
