Lily Allen parties with Rupert Murdoch's granddaughter Charlotte Freud

Lily Allen was spotted partying with billionaire media mogul Rupert Murdoch's 'wildchild' granddaughter Charlotte Freud.

The pop star, 40, who split from husband David Harbour, 50, last year, cosied up to the Charlotte, 25, at a Christmas bash this week.

Songwriter Charlotte shared a photo on her Instagram stories on Thursday night, showing the pair embracing at a party with their mutual friends. 

'Merry Christmas you filthy animals,' Charlotte captioned the snap, referencing the classic line from the movie Home Alone.

Lily cut a relaxed figure in a cream knitted jumper adorned with pink floral embroidery, while Charlotte, who earned her 'wild child' label during her drug-fuelled teenage years, wore a low-cut black outfit.

Their festive outing comes just over a month after Lily was spotted enjoying a date night with Charlotte's older brother, Jonah, at the Michelin-starred Dorian restaurant in Notting Hill.

The pair chatted and laughed together for more than two hours before leaving the venue separately.

Charlotte and Jonah are the children of PR supremo Matthew Freud, the nephew of celebrated late artist Lucian Freud, and Charlotte Hutton.

Lily, who has two daughters with her first husband, builder and decorator Sam Cooper, has been spending more and more time with the Freud media dynasty following her split from Stranger Things star David, whom she wed in 2020.

Just a few weeks ago, Charlotte shared a playful TikTok video of the pair dancing to Lily's new song, West End Girl, as they hinted at a possible romance between Lily and Jonah.

The TikTok, which was filmed in a private room at the iconic Chateau Marmont hotel in Los Angeles, also had a poignant reference to Charlotte's own brief marriage to British rapper Luke Storey, 40.

Charlotte captioned the clip: 'When last time you saw each other you were both married and now you're sisters.'

She wed rapper Luke at a star-studded Cotswolds ceremony in 2022 that resembled a scene out of Succession as as her media mogul grandfather Rupert helicoptered in wearing a striking white suit and red suede shoes amid his divorce from Texan bombshell Jerry Hall. 

Guests at the nuptials included actor Woody Harrelson and TV presenter Claudia Winkleman.

However, Charlotte later revealed her husband relapsed on the way to their honeymoon. 

The couple divorced in September 2023, with Charlotte explaining: 'It felt like there were three people in the relationship - me and him and our recovery.'

Following her divorce, Charlotte moved to Los Angeles where she struck up a romance with American actor Isaak Presley, 23, who starred in Netflix's Fuller House and Disney's Stuck in the Middle with Jenna Ortega.

The Daily Mail revealed last month that they had split up.

Charlotte, who grew up in the UK shifting between family homes in London and Suffolk, has spoken publicly about her addiction to drugs and alcohol, and recently marked her five-year sober anniversary.

Elsewhere Lily was spotted enjoying a cosy-looking dinner date with writer Jonah in a west London restaurant last month.

The pair looked cosy while chatting and laughing over dinner and are said to have spent more than two hours together before leaving the venue separately. 

Stepping out of the restaurant, Lily - who is an old friend of the Freud family, made a low-key exit as she wrapped up in a black coat and scarf with a takeaway bag. 

The pair were also pictured together back in September at an Oasis party held at the Chiltern Firehouse.
