Cruz Beckham's girlfriend is reimagining Kate Middleton's iconic looks

From pillbox hats to power tuxedos and shimmering golden gowns, Jackie Apostel,  the 30-year-old girlfriend of Cruz Beckham, is stepping into a new era of fashion.

And who better to turn to for inspiration than her boyfriend's fashion designer mother, Lady Victoria Beckham, and the Princess of Wales, who was recently crowned British Vogue's 'best dressed' in a new list.

But the Brazilian singer-songwriter, 30, is just copying these looks; instead, Jackie is  tailoring them to fit modern, younger sensibilities.

In a recent Instagram post, Jackie styled a 1960s-style pillbox hat, favoured by Kate, with a cheetah-print, fur-trimmed Charlotte Simone coat for a look that combined vintage charm and contemporary eccentricity.

While Jackie’s twist was bolder, the hat was undoubtedly a nod to the Princess of Wales, who has made the pillbox silhouette one of her most recognisable style signatures.

Worn to the Queen’s procession in 2022, Kate’s Jane Taylor pillbox hat was adorned with delicate netting and has since become emblematic of her poised, dignified style.

Together with Kate, it appears Jackie has also found a fashion muse in her 20-year-old boyfriend's mother, Posh Spice.

Earlier this year, she lit up the red carpet at the Victoria Beckham premiere in a sharply tailored tuxedo trouser suit from her eponymous label.

The Princess of Wales stepped out in Birmingham wearing Karen Millen, which was later repeated by Jackie who wore luxury label Rozinesa to the glitzy launch of CultedXO

Royal fashion watchers noted the look didn't just pay tribute to Victoria but also the Princess of Wales, as its silhouette mirrored the Alexander McQueen tuxedo Kate wore to the Natural History Museum a few years prior

Kate styled hers with modesty and restraint, layering the blazer over a simple black top.

Jackie, by contrast, chose to wear hers with lingerie, creating an outfit that blended Kate’s satin lapels, crisp lines and masculine edge with a daring, red-carpet boldness.

Then came the golden gown moment, as Jackie treaded directly in Kate’s shimmering footsteps in an Instagram post earlier this year.

Jackie’s PatBo gown was similarly as form-fitting and sculptural as the Jenny Packham frock Kate wore on the red carpet to the James Bond premiere in 2021.

In 2011 Kate dazzled at The Sun Military Awards wearing an Alexander McQueen velvet gown with an elegantly sculpted neckline and impossibly sleek silhouette.

Fast-forward to this October’s Paris Fashion Week, and Jackie arrived in a striking black Victoria Beckham strapless gown featuring a dramatic, sculptural bust line that bore more than a whisper of resemblance to Kate’s unforgettable McQueen moment.

Jackie has also recreated the striking Karen Millen burgundy trench dress Kate wore during an official visit to Birmingham.

There are such striking similarities in Victoria and Jackie's fashion and hair styles

She opted for a burgundy trench, this time from luxury label Rozinesa, when she attended the glitzy launch of CultedXO at The MAINE last month.

These parallels aren’t simply Jackie imitating, but rather reinterpreting these looks.

The pillbox hat, which on Kate signals decorum and formality, becomes playful and editorial in Jackie’s hands.

The tuxedo, modest and diplomatic on the princess, transforms into a fashion-forward statement under Jackie’s styling.

Mirroring the spirit of Kate’s outfits while recalibrating the details to suit her own persona, Apostel offers a fresh gateway into the world of refined glamour.

The appeal lies in her introducing elements of royal dressing to her wardrobe for a younger demographic, paying tribute to the monarchy while catapulting it into the modern age.
