David Beckham spoke fondly about daughter Harper as he praised efforts to support females all over the world on Friday, in a bid to raise awareness of gender inequity.

The former footballer, 49, took to Instagram to share a picture of himself with a group of young girls who seemed delighted to meet the sporting legend.

He captioned the picture: 'As a proud @unicef Goodwill Ambassador and father to an incredible daughter, an issue close to my heart is for girls everywhere to have their voices heard, to learn and have the chance to fulfil their potential.

'On this #DayoftheGirl, we encourage our world leaders to continue the fight to protect the rights of adolescent girls #GirlGoals'.

In another image, taken by the charity responsible for providing humanitarian and developmental aid to children worldwide, the star could be seen sharing a joke with a young teen.

On Monday, as he headed for dinner at Hotel Costes in the French capital after storming the runway at Paris Fashion Week, he donned a pair of grey and white striped tracksuit bottoms over a pair of navy blue shorts.

Paris Fashion Week was not the first time the star has ventured in to the fashion world.

A promising football prospect in his youth, Romeo drifted away from the game after being released by Arsenal in 2015 and turned his attention towards a career in tennis.

However, Romeo then announced he intended on a return to football in 2020 before joining dad David's MLS franchise Inter Miami the following year.

His first big break in the fashion world came when he was just 10-years-old as he took his first modelling assignment for Burberry.

Following in his mother's footsteps from a young age, Romeo was undaunted on set as was described as  'amazing, incredible and a little joy' who kept everyone entertained as he was 'bouncing around'.

His passion for fashion was cemented from an early age as he accompanied Victoria on shoots and mingling among a host of top designers.
