Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence in VERY awkward exchange

Jennifer Lawrence has had fans in hysterics after she appeared to troll Leonardo DiCaprio over his controversial dating history. 

The 35-year-old A-list actress seemingly took a swipe at the Hollywood star, 51, during their candid Variety's Actors on Actors sit down chat.

In a clip that has since gone viral, Lawrence expressed how 'great' DiCaprio looked playing a father to a teenage daughter in his latest film role in One Battle After Another.

Many interpreted her comment to be a dig at DiCaprio's past romances with younger women.   

'I really loved seeing you be a dad in One Battle After Another,' Lawrence said. 

'I'm so sad that you don't have a teenage daughter. You look great with one.'

While DiCaprio didn't verbally respond to Lawrence's remark, he did let out a laugh.

Social media users were deeply amused by Lawrence's apparent shade and noted DiCaprio's awkward body language. 

On X, formerly known as Twitter, one said: 'She has trolling down to a professional art form holy s***.'

'It's insane how effortlessly she creates and throws shade,' observed another.

A third continued: 'She really is a professional rage baiter, I love her.'

Analyzing DiCaprio's response, another said: 'Chuckling with his lips pressed tightly together. She was stressing him bad.'

'This was a dig at him, and he absolutely knew it,' a fifth added.

A sixth wrote: 'I am so obsessed with her nonchalant delivery and the fear in his eyes when he comprehends where she's going with it.'

DiCaprio, who played Chase Infiniti's on-screen father in Paul Thomas Anderson's film One Battle After Another, has a reputation for dating much younger women, resulting in a fan theory that he has an 'under 25 rule' for his girlfriends.

The actor, however, has debunked this theory with his current romance with 27-year-old girlfriend Vittoria Ceretti.

The couple are said to have met at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, where his Martin Scorsese movie Killers of the Flower Moon was premiering.

Ceretti was previously married from 2020 until 2023 to the Italian DJ Matteo Milleri, who is part of the Berlin-based duo Tale of Us.

For years now, DiCaprio has found himself the butt of many a dating joke - as well as facing furious backlash over his apparent refusal to woo a woman who was over the age of 25.

In 2022, the actor split with Camila Morrone after five years of dating just weeks after she hit the 25 milestone.

He was then photographed with a bevy of young models, including 25-year-old Victoria Lamas and 19-year-old Eden Polani.

Ceretti is said to be 'quite different to the other girls' DiCaprio has dated.

'She was harder to impress, she's very Italian and has high expectations,' an insider told The Sun in October. 

They added: 'Immediately she struck up a strong bond with his mother, plus she is very in demand — she's the one with the full diary and jet-set life, not just following him around.'

Elsewhere in his appearance on Variety's Actors on Actors, DiCaprio shocked fans by confessing that he has never rewatched Titanic. 

The Oscar winner memorably portrayed starving artist Jack Dawson in James Cameron's 1997 romantic disaster epic, which amassed $2.264 billion from a $200 million budget and won 11 Academy Awards.

'I don't really watch my films, do you?' he asked Lawrence. 

Lawrence quipped: 'No. I've never made something like Titanic, if I did I would watch it. 

'Once I was really drunk, I put on American Hustle. I was like, "I wonder if I'm good at acting?" I put it on, and I don't remember what the answer is.'
