Kim Porter's father breaks silence amid rumors surrounding her death

Kim Porter's father has spoken out amid swirling rumors about his daughter's death and her relationship with Sean 'Diddy' Combs following the music and fashion mogul's arrest in New York last week.

Talking exclusively to DailyMail.com from his home in Georgia, Jake Porter, 78 said: 'The truth will come out. It always does in the end.'

There was a time when Porter and his family regarded Diddy, 54 – known to them as Sean – as Kim's 'soulmate.'

He eulogized her at her funeral in her hometown of Columbus, Georgia, following her death in November 2018, wept at her grave and held hands with her father as the two men supported each other in grief.

Rumors have swirled surrounding Diddy's treatment of Kim and her sudden death in 2018. The couple had a 13-year on-off relationship that produced three children

Today it is clear that Porter's feelings for Diddy are complicated as he struggles to absorb the magnitude of the indictment brought against the rapper in which he is accused of a litany of heinous acts including sex trafficking, kidnap, arson, witness intimidation, obstruction of justice and racketeering.

Porter declined to comment on the latest charges beyond saying he was 'aware of them from the news', but told DailyMail.com: 'When I saw the video of what he did to Cassie (Ventura).

'I was disgusted. I don't really have much to say beyond that.'

He added: 'Everyone's innocent until proven guilty I guess, but the truth will come out.'

Asked if he believed that truth included any new details of his daughter's death amid growing calls for the investigation into it to be re-opened, Porter dismissed the previous investigation as 'a load of c**p.'

The bereaved father however fell short of calling for any new investigation into Kim's cause of death at the age of 47, which was ruled natural and due to lobar pneumonia.

But another family member who spoke to DailyMail.com yesterday on condition of anonymity was far more forthright stating: 'If she was my daughter, I would be demanding that the investigation be re-opened.

'I remember Kim as a little girl – she was just the sweetest little girl,' said the relative.

'And I remember how she grew up to be so beautiful and talented.

'But I saw the change in her when we visited her out in California when she was with him.

'She was changed, something wasn't right.

'Now I feel in my spirit he's guilty, but justice will just have to take its course.'

Kim's grave is next to her mother's in the Evergreen Memory Gardens Cemetery in Columbus, Georgia. The epitaph reads: 'Once upon a time there was a black goddess, queen, mother, best friend. One of the greatest beings God has ever created. We love her. We miss her. Forever

The family member's words show that not all of Kim's family share her children's recently expressed desire to silence all speculation regarding Diddy's treatment of their mother and her death.

Three of the rapper's children posted a joint statement addressing the rumors on Instagram on Tuesday night

The lengthy and heartfelt message was signed off by Diddy's three children with Kim – Christian, 26, and twins Jessie and D'Lila, 17, along with her older son Quincy, 33.

Quincy is Kim's son with singer ex Al B. Sure! but was adopted by Diddy during his relationship with Kim which was an on-off affair for 13 years between 1994 and 2007.

A 60-page book titled, 'Kim's Lost Words' has been called into question after its author claimed it was based on a thumb-drive containing extracts from Kim's journals

In their statement Kim's children wrote that they have seen, 'so many hurtful and false rumors circulating about our parents, Kim Porter and Sean Combs' relationship, as well as about our mom's tragic passing, that we feel the need to speak out.'

They recalled how 'shattered' they were by her death but stated that, despite their difficulty in reconciling themselves with that awful event, 'The cause of her death has long been established. There was no foul play.'

They also pushed back at claims that Kim had written the basis of a new book stating that anyone claiming to have a manuscript and be her friend is 'misrepresenting themselves'.

A 59-page book entitled 'Kim's Lost Words: A journey for justice, from the other side…' was published earlier this month and is currently Amazon's number one bestseller.

Allegedly based on a thumb-drive containing extracts from Kim's journals the book details disturbing accounts of Diddy slapping her after losing his temper and even making death threats.

Earlier this week Kim's ex, R&B singer Al B. Sure!, joined the growing swell of people demanding an investigation into the book which he and others insist, is fraudulent

In it she allegedly recounts discovering and making copies of Diddy's sex-tapes made of himself with 'young boys' he was managing, including an alleged tape involving an 18-year-old popstar who went on to be a household name.

The final entry of the memoir has Kim falling ill, dramatically texting her friends, 'he got me,' and then calling 911.

But even the man who published it – LA based publisher Chris Todd – cannot speak to its authenticity stating only that he received the thumb-drive from 'two music industry sources.'

Kim's children concluded their Instagram statement with the words: 'We ask that everyone please respect our mother Kim Porter.

'And hold her legacy in high regard so that she may rest in peace. It's what she deserves.

'We love and miss you mommy.'

Erica Wolf, an attorney for the Porter family, told DailyMail.com the diary is fake.

‘It is also offensive,' she said. 'A shameless attempt to profit from tragedy.

‘Chris Todd has no respect for Ms. Porter or her family, who deserve better. Unlike the fabrications in his so-called 'memoir,' it is an established fact that Ms. Porter passed away from natural causes.

On Monday, Kim's ex Al B. Sure! joined the growing swell of people demanding an investigation into the work which, he and others insist, is fraudulent.

In a lengthy post shared on Instagram, the R&B singer, real name Albert Brown III, urged authorities to investigate the 'group of individuals who worked at or around' Kim's residence at the time of her death.

Those people, he claimed, were 'instructed to steal her computer and mobile devices' which had contained her 'original book notes'.

In addition to the four children he shares with Kim, Diddy also has three children with three other women: son Justin, 30, and daughters Chance, 18, and 23-month-old Love.

It was recently revealed that Combs – who is awaiting trial at Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center in New York City – has 'been able to speak briefly to family members and his children via phone,' as per People.

Diddy's phone call home came amid news his lawyers are not asking for him to be moved from the 'Hell on Earth' Metropolitan Detention Center in Sunset, Brooklyn.

'He is very concerned about his kids and their well-being,' the source stated.

'He has three minor children, two of whom now have no living parent available with him incarcerated. Four of his seven children have neither parent available with him incarcerated.'

Another source said that the Combs kids are 'in a state of crisis and shock' following Diddy's arrest.

'It's heartbreaking to see the children in the state they're in. This is their father. But to them, he's not Diddy – he's dad. He has always been a loving, devoted father.'

Last week Justin, Christian, and Quincy arrived together at a New York City courtroom to support their father.
