Dhanush's Female Co-Stars Back Nayanthara
by Venkat · greatandhra.comSouth star Nayanthara recently made headlines by accusing actor-producer Dhanush of refusing her a No Objection Certificate (NoC) to use footage from their 2015 hit film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan for her upcoming Netflix documentary, Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairy Tale.
The documentary is slated for release on her birthday, November 18.
According to reports, Dhanush sent Nayanthara a legal notice demanding ₹10 crore as compensation for the unauthorized use of a three-second clip in the documentary.
In a lengthy public letter, Nayanthara revealed that after two years of attempting to secure the NoC and approval from Dhanush, her team eventually gave up, re-edited the documentary, and settled for its current version.
She expressed her frustration, stating, “The vengeance that you have been festering against the film, my partner [Vignesh Shivan], and me doesn’t just affect us but also the people who have contributed their time and effort to this project. This is an all-time low from you and speaks volumes about your character. I wish you were half the person you portray to be on stage at audio launches in front of your innocent fans, but clearly, you do not practice what you preach.”
While Dhanush has yet to respond to the allegations, his female co-stars Shruti Haasan and Nazriya Nazim have publicly expressed their support for Nayanthara, lending her solidarity in the ongoing controversy.
