Beloved Greek actress and dancer Eleni Prokopiou has died at the age of 87, leaving behind a distinguished career in Greece’s classic cinema.

Prokopiou made her film debut in 1960 and appeared in 23 films between 1960 and 1972. Her talent as both an actress and dancer made her a popular figure with audiences, while she worked alongside some of the leading artists of the era.

Among the best-known films in which she appeared were Little Aphrodites, The Emir and the Poor Devil, Date in the Air and The Ladies of the Courtyard.
