Mysuru: Strongly opposing tomorrow’s ‘Karnataka Bandh’ call given by Kannada Chaluvali leader Vatal Nagaraj and a few other Kannada organisations over Cauvery row, former MLC  A.H. Vishwanath has appealed the people and all commercial establishments, educational institutions and the like, not to extend  support in any form to the bandh.

Addressing a press meet at Jaladarshini Guest House here this morning, Vishwanath, who is also a former Minister, termed the bandh call as ‘anti-people,’ as it is against the larger interests of Karnataka.

“Vatal Nagaraj, who is also a former MLA, has been calling for ‘Karnataka Bandh’ for the last five decades over many issues. But tomorrow’s bandh goes against the interests of Karnataka and as such,  shopkeepers, commercial establishments, hotels and restaurants etc., should not shut down tomorrow,” he urged. He further said that the Kannada organisations which have called for bandh, are only aiming to get some sort of favour or benefits from the Government.
