Stray dog menace: MCC must set up a help desk

by · Star of Mysore

Sir,

Some time ago, I wrote about the dog menace in Dattagalli 3rd Stage and several other Star of Mysore readers have also expressed similar concerns. Unfortunately, all our letters seem to have fallen on deaf ears!

The Mysuru City Corporation’s (MCC) Public Relations Officer (PRO) has never bothered to respond — not even once. I begin to wonder if a PRO even exists in the MCC!

It’s high time that the MCC sets up a help desk with a functional contact number for the public to report dog-related issues. This way, MCC can send its dog control squad to catch the aggressive dogs and relocate them according to Government guidelines.

This would prevent residents from being attacked by dangerous pack of dogs in their neighbourhoods.

Can we, as tax-paying citizens, assume that a PRO exists within the MCC and that we will finally receive a positive response, followed by prompt action?
