Gang stealing copper pipes from solar panels active in Bannimantap
by InsideOut Consult · Star of MysoreMysuru: A gang stealing copper pipes from solar panels installed on terraces of houses is active and such an attempt took place in broad daylight at Bannimantap ‘C’ Layout recently but was foiled.
On Sept. 14 at about 10.23 am, miscreants who climbed on the terrace of the house belonging to S.M. Arafat through the neighbouring building in Bannimantap ‘C’ Layout, broke the hot water solar panel and separated the copper pipes in the panel.
As water began to flow, Arafat’s mother alerted her grandson. When he went to the terrace, the miscreants left the copper pipes behind and fled from the spot.
When the house owner checked the footage of the CCTV camera installed on the terrace, he saw the miscreants jumping on the terrace of his house from the adjacent building without fear.
Usually, miscreants cover their face while stealing to avoid being identified. But in this case, the CCTV has captured the face of one of the miscreants, who had come to steal the copper pipes.
Arafat said that the incident took place on Sept. 14 and has lodged a complaint at Narasimharaja (NR) Police Station besides handing over the CCTV footage to the Police.
“When I posted the CCTV footage on social media, many commented that such an incident had taken place in their houses too. Police are yet to take action on my complaint,” Arafat said.
