Yuva Sambhrama – Day 7

Mysuru: The 7th day of Dasara Yuva Sambhrama-2026 witnessed a heightened musical atmosphere with ‘Beat Gurus,’ a premier acoustic fusion and world music percussion band based in Bengaluru, mesmerising the audience with their use of folk musical instruments from countries like Australia, Africa and others.

Youths, who were present in large numbers at Kuvempu Open-Air Theatre in Manasagangothri premises yesterday, were treated to a special ‘Musical Beats Nights,’ performed by the artistes of Guru Beats who played a variety of songs using 22 musical instruments.

Beat Gurus’ flautist presented Kannada songs including Kelu Madeva, Mansana Jeeva…,’ Sojugada Sooju Mallige…, Jai Ganesha Deva, Jai Ganesha… and others which captivated the audience. The 20-minute ‘Non-stop Music’ with different instruments compelled students to dance to the beats of the fusion music creating a vibrant atmosphere.

In addition, the 7th day also witnessed students of 36 college presenting various dance programmes  through various art forms like Veerabhadra Kunita, Yakshagana, Kolata, Gaarudigombe, Karadi Majalu, Kamsale, Dollu Kunita, Puja Kunita and other traditional folk dance  based on subjects like mythology, folklore, patriotism and  social concerns.

The students of Vijaya College in Pandavapura presented a programme which explained the select facets of Samrat Ashok’s personality like his courage, bravery, his victories in wars, his sadness over loss of human life and his vow not to wage wars in future, his conversion to compassion from conquest and his efforts to spread Buddhism  in his kingdom as described in out history.

Celebrating Women’s Day today…

Dasara Yuva Sambhrama Sub-Committee has decided to observe Women’s Day at Yuva Sambhrama today (Oct. 5) to honour our womenfolk. Hence, all the participants at Yuva Sambhrama will be girl students. Even the anchors, volunteers and everybody else will be women and the entire programme will be managed by women making it an All-Women Show.
