Mysuru: Yuva Dasara begins this evening at open grounds near Jwalamukhi Tripura Sundari Temple in Uttanahalli on Outer Ring Road, with 5 days of music and entertainment lined up for youngsters.
The fest will be inaugurated at 6.30 pm by renowned actor and choreographer Prabhu Deva.
Preparations at the 14-acre venue are almost complete. The main stage, measuring 80 ft. by 60 ft., has been set up with an elaborate sound system. The sound system features high-end audio equipment and an advanced digital mixing console.
With the venue expected to draw large crowds, work on the grade separator at the Outer Ring Road-Devalapura Road junction near Hosahundi was suspended about a fortnight ago to avoid traffic disruption. The junction connects Nanjangud Road and Uthanahalli Road and lies on the route to the Yuva Dasara venue.
Work on the grade separator, including median and pillar construction, has been stopped. Two pillars, each raised to about 50 feet, have been secured, while construction equipment and materials have been cleared from the work site.
Caution tape and cement blocks have been placed along about 300 metres of the widened median to prevent unauthorised vehicle movement and guide motorists. All four lanes of the main carriageway, including those carrying traffic from Nanjangud, the Ring Road near T. Narasipur Road and adjoining service roads, are available for movement.
Police personnel deployed for Yuva Dasara have taken up their positions. Officials have inspected the stage, seating arrangements and sound systems this morning ahead of the inaugural programme.
Barricades, directional boards and route guides have been put up to help visitors reach the venue. Separate parking areas have also been earmarked for VIPs, four-wheelers and two-wheelers. The traffic arrangements are aimed at ensuring smooth movement of vehicles during the five-day event.
Parking has been arranged for about 2,000 vehicles in a designated area on the right side of the road leading to Uttanahalli village. Both sides of the Ring Road have also been prepared to accommodate nearly 5,000 vehicles.
