by David Huntley · ChronicleLiveCrowds have headed down to Newcastle's 'coolest neighbourhood' for the Ouseburn Festival. People of all ages have been spending their Saturday at the festival, with a whole host of treats on offer.
Despite a slightly cloudy and blustery day in the city, there were still plenty of people enjoying a day out. A full weekend of creativity, music, and great food is all planned, and it's free for all.
Set in the heart of Ouseburn, the open-air garden is the perfect spot to spend the day. The festival gets going from 12pm each day with a family-friendly drawing workshop led by local artists, inviting guests of all ages to contribute to a large-scale collaborative artwork.
Across the day and into the evening, a lineup of local DJs will be sound-tracking the space with an eclectic mix of world music, jazz, dub, disco, house, and downtempo. The best local street food is also on offer, with Acropolis and The Dutch Hatch serving throughout the day.
