Mel C has said there will be no Spice Girls 30th reunion tour this year – but has promised the group “want to do something”.

Last January, Mel C teased a potential Spice Girls stadium tour with Victoria Beckham in tow, reasoning that “she has to have that experience”. The group have previously embarked on a reunion tour in 2019 – however that line-up did not include Beckham.

Now, the singer has confirmed there is “no reunion” planned with bandmates Beckham, Mel B, Geri Halliwell-Horner and Emma Bunton.

A reunion this year would have celebrated the 30th anniversary of the group’s debut single, the smash hit ‘Wannabe’.

However, she said the band were “communicating all the time”, adding: “We want to do something. Who knows when, but I still feel very optimistic, and I keep my fingers crossed that you will see the Spice Girls together at some point in the future.”

The singer made the comments while she was on Australian radio show The Smallzy Show – listen to the segment here.

Last year, Mel C said she was “optimistic” that the iconic girl group would reunite this year while promoting her ninth studio album ‘Sweat‘.

“We’re talking and we’re seeing what opportunities are out there,” she told Good Morning America. “The thing that stops us is we feel so precious about it, we want to make sure it’s the right thing and agree on the right thing.”

The last time all five members performed together publicly was at the London Olympics closing ceremony in 2012, while the group also gave a surprise performance of ‘Stop’ at Posh’s 50th birthday party in 2024.

Victoria Beckham recently suggested her “tempting” desire to do a Spice Girls stadium tour after attending Oasis’ mighty comeback tour with husband David.

Elsewhere, Mel C has joined the speakers line-up at The Great Escape 2026.
