Oscars 2026: ‘One Battle After Another’, ‘Sinners’ and ‘Hamnet’ walk away with major wins

by Nick Levine · NMEOne Battle After Another led the way at the Oscars tonight (March 15), taking home six awards from 13 nominations.
In addition to winning the prestigious Best Picture prize, the film’s writer-director Paul Thomas Anderson collected the awards for Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay.
His film also won for Best Casting – a new category this year – as well as Best Editing and Best Supporting Actor for Sean Penn.
Sinners led this year’s trophy hunt with 16 nominations and came away with four, including Best Actor for Michael B. Jordan and Best Original Screenplay for its writer-director Ryan Coogler.
Jessie Buckley won Best Actress for Hamnet, while Amy Madigan won Best Supporting Actress for Weapons – 40 years on from her previous Oscar nomination.
KPop Demon Hunters took home two awards – Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song for ‘Golden’ – but Marty Supreme left empty-handed despite entering the ceremony with nine nominations.
