Spoilers for You, Me & Tuscany ahead.

Not only do I recommend watching the new romcom You, Me & Tuscany this week because it's bringing back the best 2000s vibes possible, but it's also got more links to Bridgerton than meets the eye.

Regé-Jean Page makes his return to the genre as Michael, who catches feelings for Anna (The Little Mermaid's Halle Bailey) after she arrives unannounced in his Tuscan village. She claims to be engaged to his brother Matteo (Lorenzo de Moor), but has actually crashed his house after learning about his picturesque life after meeting in a bar.

Obviously, the chemistry between Anna and Michael is off the charts, leading to the will-they-won't-they romance that we're hungry for. Throw in amazing food, stunning scenery, and a vineyard that keeps getting its protagonists wet, and you're in for a ride.

It's the vineyard that gives us You, Me & Tuscany's wild nod to Bridgerton, as Anna and Michael share a kiss while soaked through by the vineyard's sprinkler system. A nearby wine tour bus sees them, prompting two women to loudly shout that they want "some of that Shonda Rhimes, Bridgerton s**t."

I almost spat my drink out at the brazen mention, which instantly had me in hysterics. It was so natural and off the cuff that our extras seemed like real people caught up in a film set.

But when I spoke to Page and Kat Coiro about the shoutout, not only were the two women actors, but the scene was planned.

'I had to let that one go over my head — that one's for the audience'

"Oh yeah," Coiro responds when I ask if the Bridgerton reference was intentional. "I always like to undercut the earnest moments with comedy. Will Packer [producer] had worked with those ladies before, and we flew them out to Tuscany... Italy didn't know what hit them."
