Dianne could be heard telling him: "I'm so proud of you"

BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans spot 'amazing' detail in Chris McCausland's dance

Strictly Come Dancing's latest episode ended on a poignant note that left both judges and audience members visibly moved, following a stirring performance by comedian Chris McCausland and his partner Dianne Buswell.

The pair drew acclaim and emotion from everyone in the BBC ballroom on Saturday, November 9, with couples across the board putting on their best performances in hopes of progressing to the much-anticipated Blackpool week.

However, it was the final act of the evening featuring Chris McCausland that captured viewers' hearts as he and his dance partner Dianne took centre stage for their Couple's Choice routine.

The duo chose to dance to John Lennon's classic "Instant Karma! (We All Shine On)", coordinating in matching white suits and top hats. The moment that particularly resonated with fans was when a deliberate blackout during their performance simulated Chris's experience of dancing blind every week on the show.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, fans couldn't help but show their admiration for Chris and Dianne. One viewer expressed: "Omg #StrictlyComeDancing tears again tonight. Chris and Diane, you are simply amazing."

Another shared: "Switching the lights off in the studio so we can all know what it feels like to be the AMAZING Chris McCausland for a few seconds, that was extremely poignant and emotional.", reports the Mirror.

Further comments poured in with another fan saying, "every week I'm in tears", while a different person drew parallels to last year's memorable silent dance by Rose Ayling-Ellis, posting: "I hope Chris and Dianne get the same response as Rose and her silent moment... That blackout was incredible! ".

Shirley Ballas was moved to tears by Chris and Dianne's performance, telling him he "doesn't miss a beat."

She added: "You have no fear, you come out every week with your heart on your sleeve and you give us 100% of what you're capable of and in my book, that's a winner."

The pair scored a solid 33 points from the judges, placing them mid-table. But will they manage to dodge this week's dance-off and progress to Blackpool Week?
