BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Tess Daly's message to star as they're axed from show
by Danni King · DevonLiveWynne Evans, the opera star, was the latest celebrity to be voted off Strictly Come Dancing on Sunday (17 November), alongside his professional dance partner Katya Jones.
They found themselves in the bottom two with Gladiators star Montell Douglas and Johannes Radebe, after another round of public voting. The judges delivered their verdict, deciding to keep Montell and Johannes in the competition, marking the end of Wynne and Katya's Strictly journey.
Following the results show on BBC One, Wynne took to Instagram to express his gratitude to Strictly fans, with host Tess Daly quickly showing her support. Wynne wrote: "Thank you so much to everyone that has tuned in and supported me over the past 9 weeks. This has been a fantastic experience and I couldn't have done any of it without @katyajones."
He added: "Big thanks to @bbcstrictly for making me feel so welcome and a special shout out to my family for filling the fridge every week! ! Good luck to everyone still in the competition, I'll be cheering you on from my sofa next Saturday! #strictly."
Tess, who co-hosts the BBC One dance show with Claudia Winkleman, responded: "You'll be missed!" accompanied by two red heart emojis.
Wynne received an outpouring of support from his Strictly Come Dancing co-stars following his elimination. EastEnders actor Jamie Borthwick expressed his affection, saying "Love you," while Tasha Ghouri wrote: "Going to miss you had the best laughs and chats with you, should be so proud of yourself," reports Wales Online.
Shirley Ballas, the show's head judge, praised Wynne, saying: "You will be missed such a gentleman, we have all enjoyed having you on the show."
Katherine Jenkins, an opera singer, also complimented Wynne's performances, saying: "You were brilliant Wynne, always so entertaining and energetic. Loved you performances - you did Wales proud! " Meanwhile, Love Island's Liam Reardon offered words of encouragement, saying: "Well done Wynne mate".
In a heartfelt video message, Wynne reflected on his time on Strictly, saying: "Hi there, Wynne here. Spoiler alert if you've been watching Strictly's results show then you know my time on Strictly came to an end.
"It's been brilliant. I never dreamt I'd get to Blackpool and thanks to Katya for obviously being such a superb partner during the process and choreographer, pushing me to my absolute limits and sometimes beyond my limits... It's been utterly brilliant and she has been fantastic. I've got to say thank you to my family, my friends and my partner for making sure there's food in the fridge, for being really supportive when I've been away for weeks on end.
"I've also got to say Strictly, Strictly is a beautiful thing, something that' we've got to look after so that we can continue to enjoy it with our families for years to come. But thank you to you and for supporting me as I raise a glass to you and I raise a glass to my friends who are still in Strictly who will be dancing next Saturday night. I'll be watching from the sofa and I say good health. Cheers. Have a brilliant time. But thank you, for now. I won't be hiding for long, that's for sure."
