David Fincher's 2014 film adaptation of Gone Girl is packed full of memorable scenes. And one of them involves Ben Affleck, Rosamund Pike, and a shower.

Before I go any further, this is your official spoiler warning, because I'm about to ruin the end of the book/film. Got it? OK. We're good to go.
So, towards the end of the movie, when Amy Dunne (Rosamund Pike) eventually returns home to her husband, Nick Dunne (Ben Affleck), he demands to know where she's been, what's been going on, and the real reason she's covered head to toe in blood.

Amy is willing to tell him the truth, but, in order to feel comfortable, she needs to be sure that he isn't wearing a wire. So, the solution is for the two of them to strip fully naked and get in the shower, which is where we see Amy rinse away the dried-up blood on her body and finally tell Nick the truth. (Or her version of the truth, this is Amy Dunne, after all.)

The scene is memorable not only for its significance to the plot but also for Ben's brief full-frontal moment as he's getting into the shower. If you need to refresh your memory, the shower scene is about 2 hours and 12 minutes into the movie.

For years, there's been speculation as to whether Ben was wearing a prosthetic, and now, we finally have the answer. During a recent cover interview for Variety, Ben was asked by the journalist (who joked that they "lost a bet at the office") to put the prosthetic debate to rest, once and for all.

"I wore no prosthesis," he responded. "I’ve only worn one in one film, Hollywoodland. It was a nose."

For what it's worth, Ben has previously joked about the nude scene, saying at the 2014 Hollywood Film Awards that David Fincher "assured" him during shooting that the camera wouldn't "go far enough to see anything." "So thank you, David," he quipped. "I'd like to thank you for keeping the set cool. Because if you are gonna have one chance for America to see your junk, you want it to be cold. It's a real gift."

In spite of that, and the famous story about Ben and David's on-set dispute over a Yankees cap, Ben told Variety that he "loved every day" making Gone Girl. Although it sounds like he's yet to shake off Rosamund's terrifyingly brilliant — and Oscar-nominated! — performance in the movie.

"I'm still afraid of Rosamund Pike," he said in an additional video interview with the outlet. "She still has that sort of look— you know what I mean?"
"'Hello Ben, it's nice to talk to you. It's good to see you again,' I'm like, Oh fuck," he said, doing a scarily accurate imitation of her English accent. "She still has that— I don't know, that quality. Great performance. She was great in the movie."
