For many years, Jennifer Lawrence has talked openly about her mixed feelings regarding social media — and why she's one of the last remaining A-list celebs without any public accounts.

"I’m on it. But I’m a voyeur: I watch, I don’t speak," she shared in a 2018 interview with InStyle. "There is always so much backlash. So many people are listening and paying attention, and they have so many opinions about absolutely everything."

She continued: "I really don’t want to welcome that unless it’s absolutely necessary. I don’t want to put myself out there for no reason. Unless I’m promoting something or something really burns my onions, you won’t hear from me."

With the knowledge that J.Law has been anonymously lurking online, we've gained some insight into her private activity on socials over the past few years. In 2022, she shared that she's active on TikTok and that her algorithm at the time was filled with baby goats. Then, in 2025, she took things a step further, revealing that she has a "secret life" on the app and regularly gets into "fights" in the comments section.

And now, Jennifer's lurking days are over — at least on Instagram.

On Wednesday, screenshots of a verified account under the handle @jlaw began circulating online. Hilariously, the bio on the account reads: "jenniferlawrence was taken."

At first, people weren't sure if it was the real deal. However, a quick scroll through the accounts on the following list told us everything we needed to know.

As of writing, @jlaw has over 750,000 followers, including her real-life celebrity pals like Kylie Jenner, Kris Jenner, and Bowen Yang. Even the official Academy account follows her, which I assume is a perk of being an Oscar winner.

As for who she follows, there are currently only 46 people on the list. I won't go through them all here, but some of my favorite follows include: all five of the KarJenner sisters, Andy Cohen (a true Housewives fan), Ms. Rachel, Josh Hutcherson, Leonardo DiCaprio, and her very own husband, Cooke Maroney, whose IG is private.

Jen has yet to post anything, but she's definitely been active since the account was discovered. Last week, the Oscar winner went viral for a hilarious — and Katniss Everdeen-esque — slip-up, where she accidentally said the word "facism" instead of "fashion" while presenting the winner at the 2026 LVMH Prize ceremony in Paris. Footage of the moment racked up millions of views online, and on Wednesday night, J.Law used her newly minted IG account to weigh in on the error.

"Oops," she wrote under Evan Ross Katz's viral post about the moment. Screenshots of the comment are racking up thousands of likes over on X, and it's exactly the chaotic energy we'd expected from her.

So, there's a lot of speculation as to why Jennifer has gone public on social media now. Is it movie promo? Is she launching a beauty brand? Is she gonna quit acting and start making analysis videos about the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills? Who knows!

Whatever the case, she's here, and she's already delivering incredible content. Now we eagerly await her first post. We're ready!!!
