These Real-Life Sisters Filmed A "Sincerely Incestuous" Threesome Scene With Orlando Bloom, And The Internet Has A LOT Of Thoughts

Orlando Bloom is suddenly at the center of some pretty wild discourse after opening up about filming a threesome scene with real-life sisters Rooney and Kate Mara in their new movie, Bucking Fastard.

Bucking Fastard premiered at the Venice Film Festival on Sept. 3, but it still doesn't have a US release date.

And yes, Rooney and Kate really are sisters in real life. Rooney is probably best known for The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and Carol, while Kate starred in House of Cards and The Martian. Yet somehow, after all these years, Bucking Fastard is the first movie they've ever made together!!

In the movie, Rooney and Kate play Joan and Jean Holbrooke, sisters who are so close that they speak in unison, share the same dreams, and fall in love with the same man, Gareth Mulroney, played by Orlando. And their relationship with Gareth eventually culminates in a threesome scene among all three characters...

The movie's director, Werner Herzog, was inspired by real-life British twins Freda and Greta Chaplin, who dressed alike, spoke in unison, and became a tabloid fascination in the UK in the 1980s. Herzog actually met the twins around 45 years ago, but he has noted that Jean and Joan's story is fictional.

While promoting the movie at the San Sebastián Film Festival, Orlando was asked about filming the threesome scene and said, "There's such simplicity to the characters and [their] carnal desires, but also an innocence to the sisters. My character, the Bucking Fastard, is sensitive, too. And he's quite quickly out of his depth in some ways. It was a very sincere sort of moment that was created."

Orlando's comments have since sparked a lot of reactions online, with some people particularly thrown by the way he talked about the scene.

Others were more baffled by Rooney and Kate agreeing to do the scene together in the first place.

And some people were just completely thrown by the entire thing.

Not everybody thought the backlash made sense, though, with some people pointing out that Rooney and Kate were simply acting.
