People Are Sharing The Creepiest Things Kids Have Ever Said To Them, And Boy Oh Boy, Children Are Adorable But Strange

by · BuzzFeed

Kids are very cute, but they also have just about zero filter when it comes to conversation. So, from time to time, they might say something that adults read as, well...a little creepy.

For that reason, we asked the BuzzFeed Community, "What's the most unintentionally creepy thing a kid ever said to you?" Here are the responses that will either make you laugh, or send chills down your spine.

1. "My son was maybe 5 years old. He said, 'Goodnight mommy! I love you. It would be a shame if you didn’t wake up.' My response was, 'Um…yeah, it would. Do you know something I don’t?!' He just smiled, giggled, and said, 'You’re so silly, mommy,' then went to sleep!"

2. "I was at my friend's house, and her then-5-year-old little sister came up to us and said, ‘It sees everywhere,’ and ran. Odd."

3. "I saw a little girl writing weird symbols on the ground that looked like they were from the movie Stigmata or something. Without any prompting, she looked at me and said, 'It says evil is coming.'"

4. "My 6-year-old special needs daughter pointed and told my mom to look behind her. When my mom asked why, she said, 'Because your mom is here.' My grandma passed away in 2014."

5. "My little sister once whispered, 'Do you hear that, she's screaming.' Then another time, she was talking about a dead child being her friend, and putting my family in jail."

6. "My daughter and her friend were maybe 4, and they were playing make-believe with some plastic toy horses. I was watching it briefly, thinking about how great their imaginations were. Then, they decided that one horse had died, and all the others were going to eat him."

7. "My niece was a little over a year old and learning to talk. She started singing this creepy song to us, and the only words we could make out were, 'Take your ears, take your eyes.' It was absolutely terrifying to see this little baby doll of a girl singing those words while smiling at you...turns out, she was singing a song from Doc McStuffins where they sing, 'CHECK your ears, CHECK your eyes.'"

8. "My paternal grandmother died when my nephew was 4 or 5. My nephew became depressed and got deep into drawing pictures for a while. On the pictures, he wrote my grandmother’s name. My MATERNAL grandmother. Who died 20 years before he was born. Whom nobody talked about, because her death was a suicide, and none of the elders wanted to take accountability for the role they played in her decision to die."

9. "My 3-year-old is currently obsessed with his wooden vegetable set. It comes with all sorts of veggies that are held together with magnets, two wooden knives, and a chopping board. He will spend hours ‘preparing dinner.’ After a nap the other day, he was sat in his crib, holding one of the wooden knives from the set, chanting, ‘I need to cut something’ over and over!"

10. "A student of mine last year in art class was drawing a picture. I asked him to tell me about it. He smiled and said, 'This is you, in your coffin! Look how beautiful you look!' Gave me the biggest uneasy feeling after that!"

11. "Apparently, when my uncle was a toddler, no more than 3, he was staring blankly out the window at a thunderstorm. When my grandpa asked if he was scared, my uncle said, 'God makes thunder. What is there to fear?' He was an articulate toddler, but not usually THAT articulate."

12. I was talking to my friend's daughter about Harry Potter; she was around 6 and reading the second book at the time. I asked who her favorite character was. She looked me dead in the eyes and said, 'Moaning Myrtle, because she died in a toilet.' Not much to say after that."

13. "'Mommy, look at the kids! They're playing baseball.' My toddler daughter said this as we were passing by a cemetery with absolutely no children or baseball diamond in sight."

14. "'I see Annie's grandma (her friend's recently deceased grandmother) come out of my walls when I'm sleeping...I don't want her to do that anymore.'"

15. "'You can pet a porcupine, but only the inside parts.'"

16. "I work at a group home for abused and neglected kids, and they tend to have a lot of unusual things to say. One time, this kid grabbed my arm and kept commenting on how soft my skin was. Another time, two of the kids started talking about how they see people who aren’t real and that they always have 'no face.'"

17. And finally, "I work at a Christmas attraction in the UK, and we were warned to be prepared for some awkward questions or statements from children, like asking why Father Christmas looks different to the one they saw last year or talking about bodily functions, as kids are prone to do. I felt pretty much prepared for all that. What I wasn't prepared for was a 4-year-old beckoning me down to their level and, when I did, looking me straight in the eyes and saying in a loud whisper with a note of relish, 'I KNOW WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DIE!'"
