Nearly 30 Years After Her Death, Prince Harry May Reportedly Be Working On A Documentary About Princess Diana

Prince Harry is potentially working on a documentary about his late mother, Princess Diana, People magazine reported Monday.
Multiple sources told the outlet that “Harry has also reached out to family members and friends connected to his late mother,” though they were quick to note that “no documentary project has been finalized or confirmed.”
The report comes as the 30th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death approaches.
The Princess of Wales, 36, was killed in a high-speed car crash Aug. 31, 1997, while being pursued by paparazzi in Paris. Prince William was 15 at the time, while Prince Harry was 12.
People noted that the Duke of Sussex is “considering a number of projects” to mark the significant anniversary.
It’s long been thought that the royal would work on a project about his mother, after he and Meghan Markle’s Netflix deal was first announced in 2020. HuffPost reached out to representatives for Prince Harry, as well as Kensington Palace, which had no comment.
Diana’s brother, Charles Spencer, recently announced he is publishing a book to mark the three decades since his beloved sister died. The book, Swan Song: Diana, My Sister, will hit bookshelves Sept. 22.
“With the 30th anniversary of Diana’s tragic death on the skyline, I’ve been inundated yet again with requests for interviews about my sister,” Spencer said in a press release announcing the book’s publication.
“This has convinced me to write down my own thoughts and memories, once and for all, rather than having the discomfort of again reading the opinions of others, many of which are based on untruths that have become accepted over time,” he said.
The historian added that “the aim of this book is to tell the truth about Diana from her brother’s perspective, just as I attempted to do when speaking at her funeral. As with my eulogy, I want to speak on Diana’s behalf and do so in an openly positive way.”
