"This Is A New Low": Taylor Swift Fans Have *Incredibly* Mixed Feelings Over Her 4 New Songs

In case you haven't heard, Taylor Swift just dropped four new tracks. And I know what you're thinking: she originally told us there would be only 12 tracks on her album, The Life of a Showgirl. But she confessed...she went back into the studio with Shellback and Max Martin to record four additional songs. And those tracks are now part of the deluxe version of the album, titled The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore.

And that's not all. She's also releasing a music video for the track "Patient Zero" on Sunday, September 27, at the VMAs. The video will star Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell, so fans are already giddily kicking their feet, eager to count the Easter eggs and see what Taylor has in store.

And with new Taylor Swift music comes a lot of chatter. Honestly, lots of Swifties are really vibing with the new music, praising the songs for their levity and fun-spirited nature. Take a look:

But honestly, many people have mixed feelings about the new tracks. People are criticizing Taylor's "lazy" and "unimaginative" lyrics, such as these from her song "Cleveland":

"The taste of me is acquired, but it's his favourite dish. He says I look like an angel, they say, 'I hate that bi—'"

And I get it. Fans are understandably frustrated that the woman who gave us such poetic lyricism in Folklore is now dropping lines like:

"She's not as hot as she was, but she was only a four. She was never a girls' girl, she was just a— And with all of that money, why's she dressed like trash? When she smiles, it's annoying, and have you seen her."
