Rockslide closes HWY 7 in both directions near Hope

Highway 7 has been closed in both directions near Hope due to a rockslide, the Lower Mainland District says.

Hydro lines have been downed and the pavement has suffered “significant” damage.

Photos posted online show rocks and debris completely covering the road.

Use Highway 1 and Highway 9 as alternate routes.

An assessment is in progress, and there is no estimated time for reopening.
