Seattle-born rapper Macklemore is trending after being dropped as an opener for Ed Sheeran’s US Loop Tour after his pro-Palestinian remarks during a MetLife Stadium set on September 4, 2026. Performing his protest song Hind’s Hall wearing a kaffiyeh, he told the crowd he joined the tour to say “Free Palestine” loud and clear.

Days later, promoter Messina Touring Group confirmed that venues refused to host shows with him on the bill. Macklemore claims Patriots owner Robert Kraft led the push, giving Sheeran an ultimatum. Amid the latest update about Macklemore being dropped from Ed Sheeran’s tour, the former’s personal life has come into the limelight. For the unversed, Macklemore has been married to Tricia Davis, and they share three children.

Macklemore’s first child was born before he tied the knot with Tricia Davis

As mentioned, Macklemore and his wife Tricia Davis have three children together. The pair’s first child, daughter Sloane Ava Simone Haggerty, was born on May 29, 2015. Tricia was expecting in late 2014, and Macklemore later admitted he initially panicked, worried he wasn't ready to be a father and couldn't stay sober.

Macklemore announced on X (formerly Twitter) that he and Tricia were expecting in January 2015. Just a month after her birth, on June 27, 2015, he and Tricia married after seven years of dating. Sloane essentially grew up in the studio. Macklemore built a studio in his home basement so he wouldn't miss time with her, and she helped curate his 2017 album Gemini by giving instant reviews to tracks, nodding or saying Nope.

He has Sloane’s name tattooed on his chest and has shared many moments like napping with her and watching Seahawks games together. In 2021, when she was six, Sloane went viral for roasting her father’s song Next Year over hot cocoa, telling him "Not your best, but I still love ya" and asking why Adele and Taylor Swift weren't on it.

The couple’s second child, daughter Colette Koala Haggerty, was born in March 2018. They announced the second pregnancy in September 2017 with a cake that joked about a second night at KeyArena. Macklemore announced her birth during a show at Dublin's 3Arena and on Irish radio, saying he spent St. Patrick's Day in the hospital with his newborn daughter. Colette is now 7.

Macklemore’s third child and only son, Hugo Jack Haggerty, was born on July 30, 2021. Tricia shared the news on Instagram six weeks later on September 15, 2021, posting a selfie with the newborn and writing that he arrived "rooted and calm" while observing his two older sisters, who she called "two whirling dervishes." Hugo is now 4 years old. The family lives in Seattle, and all three children were home during a burglary at their Capitol Hill house in June 2025.

Macklemore and Tricia Davis got engaged seven years after they started dating

Macklemore, real name Ben Haggerty, first connected with Tricia Davis on MySpace in 2006, long before he broke through commercially. At the time, Ben was playing tiny shows in Seattle, and Tricia was a former nurse from Seattle Pacific University. Tricia stayed by Ben’s side through his addiction relapses and recovery, and was there from the beginning of his independent career.

Over the years, Tricia moved into his professional circle as well, working as his tour manager, stylist, and video producer on hits like Thrift Shop and Same Love. In a 2014 interview, Ben credited her for being there when they were making only a handful of shirts for shows with just a few people.

After seven years of dating, the couple got engaged on January 21, 2013. Macklemore shared the news online by saying that after seven years, he had asked and Tricia had agreed, calling her the love of his life. They married on June 27, 2015, a date she pointed out was right after the Supreme Court legalized same-sex marriage.
