Randy Jackson has been a part of television for many years. He has even contributed his musical skills to some albums. His solo album, Randy Jackson’s Music Club, Vol. 1, came out in 2008. Randy later became popular with his appearance on American Idol. He served as a mentor on the reality show for 12 seasons. Randy has also been featured on another show, America’s Best Dance Crew.

Although Randy Jackson left American Idol in 2013, he appeared as a guest mentor in an episode of the ongoing 24th season on May 4, 2026. However, his appearance created concern among fans, with most of them noting that he was looking different. Randy has not responded to the reactions so far. Randy Jackson’s first wife has stayed out of the spotlight

Although Randy Jackson was married to Erika Riker for more than 20 years, he previously tied the knot with Elizabeth Jackson in 1990. According to PEOPLE, Randy and Elizabeth separated in the same year. The reasons for the split remain unknown, and Elizabeth has also maintained a private life, with her career and other details being a mystery until today. However, the duo had a daughter named Taylor.

Randy Jackson and Erika Riker’s first meeting reportedly dates back to 1995 during the filming of a music video. The pair had an age gap of 14 years during that period. The duo exchanged vows in the same year. Erika had pursued a career in ballet dancing. They were also operating the Randy and Erika Family Foundation, which was all about dance and physical activities. The former couple appeared together at various events, including the 17th Annual Mercedes-Benz Carousel of Hope cocktail party, held in Beverly Hills, California, in 2006.

Randy and Erika also had two children, Zoe and Jordan. Back in 2014, PEOPLE confirmed in a report that Erika filed for divorce from Randy due to irreconcilable differences. Riker asked for physical custody and joint legal custody for Jordan. A source for PEOPLE claimed at that time that the pair had a plan to file for divorce. However, Erika opted not to wait, and Randy reportedly did not expect that to happen.

Randy Jackson and Erika Riker’s divorce was settled in 2019

Randy Jackson and Erika Riker’s divorce was finalised in January 2019, four years after the latter filed for the same. TMZ acquired the legal documents of the settlement, where the judge signed the dissolution of the marriage, and the date of their divorce was listed as February 7, 2019. Other details related to the settlement were not disclosed.

Although the duo operated the Randy and Erika Family Foundation, the activities of the organisation were not widely reported anywhere. However, the foundation allegedly worked with two more organisations to establish dance studios and contribute to many of the youth programs active in Los Angeles, as stated by the Los Angeles Sentinel. Apart from this, the organisation intended to fight against childhood obesity.
