Bebe Rexha has been generating buzz lately, whether it's her 2026 MTV VMAs appearance, her revelation about being rejected by fashion designers over her weight, or her subtle dig at her ex-boyfriend, Keyan Safyari. On September 29, 2026, the 37-year-old Meant To Be singer shared a TikTok video highlighting low moments from the past few years, including her breakup with Keyan.

The video reminded Rexha of the hardships she overcame to become who she is today. The video started with a photo of the singer with a man who appeared to be her ex-boyfriend, Keyan Safyari. Notably, his face was crossed out, which felt like an intended jab at him. It likely suggested that Keyan was a done-and-dusted chapter of Rexha's life and that she has moved on to better things.

The picture was followed by a text message about Rexha and Keyan's relationship, which she also shared in July 2023. The message likely suggested his critical comments about her weight gain supposedly played a big role in their split. Rexha, who is all about body positivity, crossing out Keyan's face over his comments on her weight gain makes perfect sense.

Keyan Safyari felt Bebe Rexha used his remarks on her weight gain to shield the actual reason of their split

Bebe Rexha announced her breakup with Keyan Safyari live during a concert in London on July 28, 2023. Two weeks before the official breakup announcement, Rexha took to Instagram and posted a screenshot of a lengthy text from Keyan Safyari in which he discussed her weight gain. She later deleted the screenshot. However, Keyan's criticism of her weight gain is said to have caused the split.

In the text message, Keyan was seen asking Rexha not to weaponize her anger, insecurity, and anxiety against him. He also stated that he has always found her beautiful and will love her no matter what. Keyan felt that Rexha should see a therapist or go for a retreat to cool herself down. He stated:

"I think it's important for you to think about things and write things down, speak to a therapist and do this retreat thing to get to the root of the problem. Let me know if you'd like to speak if you need more clarity. Love you."

Keyan Safyari justified himself for pointing out her facial changes due to her weight gain. He stated that his remarks about her 35-pound weight gain were out of his care and concern for her and not intended to make her feel bad. He added that the I'm Good singer called him "fat" and "chubbs" when he put on three extra pounds, so he was also making harmless jokes about her weight gain.

In the lengthy text, Keyan further claimed that the conversation about Rexha's weight was "not the real reason" she wanted to part ways with him. He wanted her to be honest and tell him why she wanted to end things. Keyan felt that she was purposely taking words out of context and making things up "to find reasons to break up." He was okay with an amicable split if she had different plans for her life and didn't envision a future with him.
