Colin Farrell is lauded for his work in the entertainment industry. The Irish actor is known for his performance in The Batman, A Big Beautiful Journey, and The Penguin, among others. However, he's recently been making headlines for his upcoming appearance in Taylor Swift's Patient Zero alongside Dakota Johnson. Amid the buzz, Colin's personal life is once again grabbing headlines, including his relationship with Emma Forrest.

Colin Farrell wanted to have a baby with Emma Forrest

Colin Farrell is often in the headlines for his relationships, and he has been linked to several A-list actresses, including Angelina Jolie, Britney Spears, and Demi Moore. However, one of his most famous relationships was with writer Emma Forrest, who detailed their romance in her memoir, Your Voice in My Head, referring to him as her "gypsy husband." 

While she talked about her relationship in detail, Emma Forrest never directly named him. In fact, she only used the nickname or its abbreviation, GH. Emma talked about how, in 2008, while attending a dinner and film screening at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, she was "introduced to a man with long, flowing hair who is wearing a kaffiyeh." She recalled how the man looked like "the world's campiest terrorist". However, he was a movie star with a "storied reputation."

In her account, she shared how, after talking to him all night in the garden, she found him to have a more sensitive side that was a stark contrast to his bad-boy reputation. Emma Forrest further called him "the saddest man who's ever made me laugh uncontrollably." She also said that Colin told her that he "respected [her] too much" to try to sleep with her that night. In fact, it was a while after they first met before they became romantically involved.

Emma Forrest recalled how sensitive Colin was toward her, and how he almost warned her about the heartbreak he would cause when he wrote, "Ugh, just got a wave of nausea at the idea of ever hurting your lovely feelings." They eventually met at her house to watch a movie and drink tea, where he told her, "If I kiss you, it's all over." She added, "And then it is." She revealed that they would text 50 times a day, with Colin Farrell making extremely heart-touching gestures.

Emma revealed Colin had even mailed her his worn T-shirt so she could smell his scent while he was away. He also invited her to walk the red carpet with him and charmed her parents when he met them. All was going well between them, that was until gossip blogs caught up and started slamming Emma for being "fat and ugly, not what a movie star's girlfriend should be". Farrell, meanwhile, suggests that they should have a baby. She wrote:

"When I get back from this film, let's have a miniature human that grows. I would rather die than not knock you up."

The suggestion left Emma Forrest stunned. However, she still asked Colin Farrell whether he just wanted a baby or also wanted her around. The Irish actor admitted that it was both, and they talked about their future family at length. Colin even told Emma that they'll have a girl whom they'll name Pearl. However, little did she know that the life she was dreaming about was soon going to change.

The future Emma Forrest was hoping for was soon about to crumble. The promises Colin Farrell had made to her were going to be proven false. While Emma was planning a family in her head, Colin was away filming a project. However, when he returned to LA, he wasn't the man Emma had sent away. Emma greeted him in a burlesque outfit. However, his response was not what she expected, as he told her, "I think I need some space."

The coldness broke something in Emma Forrest, and she locked herself away in the bathroom. Through the door, she yelled at him to take the cheesecake she'd prepared to celebrate him coming home. As it turned out, Colin's space began to broaden, and eventually his texts and calls to her became distant. She recalled how Colin ultimately just stopped responding entirely. She wrote, "I have been dismissed."

However, Emma Forrest's world was still moments away from being shattered. Three months later, a friend sent her a link to a site with photos of Colin Farrell posing on the red carpet with his new girlfriend, his Ondine co-star Alicja Bachleda-Curus, who was pregnant. The news completely broke Emma and ended the chapter between her and Colin. 

Colin's first son, James Padraig Farrell, was born in 2003 after a brief romance with American model Kim Bordenave. While she was pregnant with James, who has Angelman syndrome, a rare genetic disorder, Kim claimed that the Irishman didn't care for her properly. The actor welcomed his second son, Henry Tadeusz Farrell, in 2009 with Bachleda-Curus. Their relationship didn't last, and they split in 2010.
