Adam the Woo was banned from Universal Studios

While most of Adam the Woo's content was immensely loved, a 2012 video led to him being banned from Universal Studios. According to reports, the YouTuber was filming inside two abandoned buildings on the premises. However, when a guard captured him, Adam recorded himself being escorted out of the park, which led Universal Studios Orlando to ban him from its premises on April 6, 2012.

The 2017 YouTube controversy and petition to get Adam the Woo unbanned from Universal Studios

The ban by Universal Studios came after Adam the Woo posted a video about the ban in 2017. The video description noted that in 2012, Adam recorded two videos at Universal Studios Orlando of attractions that are no longer open to the public. He added that a lot had changed since that day, not just in how he documents things but also in how he gets access to different spaces. The description further read:

"Although I technically did not sneak into the locations alone and unnoticed as it may appear in the clips I do understand how posting the footage is frowned upon and can appreciate their concern. After nearly 5 years and countless return visits and annual passes to Universal Orlando Resort, they have chosen at this time to trespass me from the property indefinitely."

A Change.org petition was created in 2018, urging Universal Studios to lift the ban on Adam the Woo. The petitioner, Dynasty Gould, wrote that the two videos Adam recorded at Universal Studios Orlando in July 2012 showed the old Nickelodeon Studios building and the Triceratops Encounter. He further argued that both had been "abandoned" and that the Nickelodeon building was not out of bounds to the public; hence,, recording should not have been prohibited.

The petition further stated that while the Triceratops Encounter was off-limits to visitors, Adam had permission from a Universal staff member to see the Jurassic Park-themed attraction and watch videos. However, it is unclear whether the staff member had the authority to issue such permits, and Dynasty Gould argued that Adam should not be held responsible.
