On May 8, 2026, Latto took to her X (formerly Twitter) handle to announce her retirement from music. She described her upcoming album, Big Mama, as her retirement album. Her announcement came as a shock to her fans as she was riding high in her career. Latto’s retirement album, Big Mama, is scheduled to be released on May 29, 2026. Latto also thanked her fans for everything. She wrote:
"5/29 My retirement album. Thank you for everything."
