Erin's aunt inspired her to name her younger daughter after her, and the designer believes that through the name, her aunt's legacy will continue to live on. Erin got married to Ben Napier in 2008. The duo shares two daughters, Helen and Mae.

Helen was born in 2018, while Mae was born in 2021. In the emotional tribute, Erin shared childhood memories with her aunt and why she named her daughter after 'Aunt Mae'. Erin's aunt was a greeter at her shop and used to work as a retailer. According to Erin, loving people was her aunt's gift. Sharing childhood memories, Erin revealed that her mom would leave her to her aunt, who would spend time with her by walking her to the woods on the hills, where their 4 generations lived.

Erin's aunt had a strong presence while she grew up, and according to the host, 'Aunt Mae' was the one to teach her about politics and God and even used to sing Elvis to her. In one portion of the note, she talked about her aunt feeding her ice-cream cones and giving her a bath, while adding that, when she was expecting her second child with Ben, she already knew whom she would name her baby after. An excerpt from Erin's note could be read as:

"For the rest of my life I will smell Ivory soap and remember the way she bathed me in her cast iron sink and fed me little ice cream cones with marshmallows and strawberry jam hidden in the bottom. She was so very special, when my last baby girl was on the way I knew what we would name her. Mae."

Erin Napier's personal life

Erin Napier and her husband, Ben Napier, first met back in 2004, when they were studying at Jones County Junior College in MI. Ben liked her Pixie haircut, and she saw him as her biggest celebrity crush because he was president of every club at their junior college. While the duo didn't hit it off instantly because Erin was nervous about talking to Ben, they decided to get married six days after she interviewed him for their school's yearbook.

While Ben and Erin decided on marrying each other within 5 days of meeting, the couple actually tied the knot four years later in 2008. Eventually, they made their career strong enough to grab attention on HGTV's Home Town. The couple welcomed their two kids, and currently the family of four resides in Mississippi.
