David Allan Coe and Kimberly Hastings tied the knot more than 15 years ago
As mentioned, David Allan Coe was married to Kimberly Hastings before his death. The duo tied the knot in 2010. The pair was romantically linked for almost ten years before they got married. The wedding witnessed the presence of the couple’s close friends, and it was organised at The Little White Chapel in Las Vegas.
David was 71 when he exchanged vows with Kimberly, and it was his sixth marriage. Hastings was also getting married for the second time. David later opened up about getting married for the sixth time, saying that he was tired of making decisions for himself. While David and Kimberly kept their romance out of the spotlight, the latter was a background singer for Allan Coe. According to Country Thang Daily, David was living in Ormond Beach, California, with his wife.
While David Allan Coe tied the knot six more times in the past, he was a father of five children - Tyler, Tanya, Shelli, Shyanne, and Carson. Among the five children, Tyler, Tanya, and Shelli have been following their father’s footsteps, pursuing a career in the music industry.

David Allan Coe tested positive for COVID in 2021 and battled some other health issues
Although David Allan Coe’s cause of death has not been revealed, he has battled a health problem in the past. Back in August 2021, David tested positive for COVID and was immediately transported to the hospital. While he was confirmed to be awake and speaking to everyone, David was undergoing treatment with a lot of vitamins and being fed intravenously, as per Saving Country Music.
The news of David’s hospitalisation came after his live performances were canceled in the same month due to rising COVID cases. Apart from David, a few of his family members also tested positive, including his grandson and wife, Kimberly Hastings. The details were even shared with a statement through David’s official Facebook handle. David Allan Coe was discharged in September 2021. Kimberly confirmed the news by thanking the doctors, nurses, and everyone else, including the COVID patients, who helped David to recover. Hastings additionally thanked the EMTs and the Ormond Beach Fire Department.
David Allan Coe was previously hospitalised in February 2018 due to an inner ear infection. His band members revealed the news after rumours claimed that he suffered multiple strokes. He was supposed to perform in Flint, Michigan, in the same month. However, the performance was cancelled because of his hospitalisation.
