Jaideep Ahlawat's Father Passes Away, Actor Left 'Paatal Lok 2' Promotions And Rushed To Delhi

Jaideep Ahlawat was promoting his upcoming series, 'Paatal Lok 2', when he received the news of his father's demise and rushed to Delhi to be with his family.

Jaideep Ahlawat is an extremely talented actor who is known for his stint in Hindi films and series. The actor graduated from the Film and Television Institute of India and thereafter played several small roles before gaining prominence with the 2012 crime film, Gangs Of Wasseypur. The actor was last seen in the role of 'Maharaj Jadunath' in Aamir Khan's son, Junaid Khan's debut film, Maharaj. As for television series, he was last seen in The Broken News 2.

Jaideep Ahlawat's father passed away on January 14, 2025

Jaideep Ahlawat was promoting his upcoming crime thriller, Paatal Lok 2 when the news of his father's demise broke out. For the unversed, the actor is best known for his roles in movies like Raazi, Gangs of Wasseypur, and the series Paatal Lok. The actor is mourning the passing of his father, who died on January 14, 2025.

The actor received the news during promotions and soon after left to be with his family in Delhi. The actor's team confirmed the unfortunate news. In the shared statement, they revealed that the actor's family, including the actor, has requested privacy during this difficult and painful time. The statement read:

"We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Jaideep Ahlawat's beloved father. He departed for his heavenly abode surrounded by family and love. Jaideep and his family request privacy during this difficult time as they cope with their profound loss. We thank you for your understanding and prayers."

Jaideep Ahlawat's father supported his decision to become an actor

Jaideep Ahlawat sat for a conversation with Saurabh Sachdeva earlier and revealed how his father was there for him when he chose to become an actor. For the unversed, the actor's father was a retired teacher. Jaideed, in the interview, had shared how it was his father who supported him so that he could pursue a career in acting. He added that his father never said no to him when he told his parents that he wanted to join the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII). Recalling his father's words, he stated: 

"He said 'What will happen? At best, if he fails, he will take up farming.'"

Jaideep Ahlawat's upcoming projects

Jaideep Ahlawat will soon be seen in the second season of his popular series, Paatal Lok. He will return to the series in his popular portrayal of 'Inspector Hathiram Chaudhary'. According to the reports, the new season will focus on the character of 'Hathiram Chaudhary' who is played by the actor and his team navigating an uncharted territory, which is being promoted as "a perilous 'fresh hell' that will test them like never before."

However, the plot of the show remains a surprise for the fans. Helmed by Avinash Arun Dhaware, season 2 will also star Tillotama Shome, Nagesh Kukunoor, and Jahnu Barua in pivotal roles. The crime drama is set to premiere on Prime Video on January 17, 2025.
