Beach Boys co-founder and frontman Mike Love is currently going through a tough time. Band member John Stamos revealed on October 10, 2026, that the 85-year-old musician was “facing serious health challenges.” Despite this, Mike decided to join everyone on stage, leaving his fans both happy and concerned at the same time.

Mike thanked everyone for coming to the show. Now, with him in the spotlight, the focus has also shifted to his personal life. While Mike is currently married to Jacqueline Piesen, his marriage to his second wife, Suzanne Belcher, has made headlines for all the wrong reasons.

According to reports, Mike Love first crossed paths with his second wife, Suzanne Belcher, through his then-girlfriend Pam Rexroad. At the time, Suzanne was only 17 years old. Pam had invited Suzanne to a Beach Boys Party! Recording session. As Mike got interested in her, he wanted to get her phone number. However, things were not so smooth, as Suzanne was really reluctant to give it to the singer.

Suzanne was reportedly already in a relationship with someone else who happened to be in the National Guard. Over time, she finally gave in to Mike and joined him for a luncheon with the Beach Boys’ booking agent as she hoped to get a job at the William Morris Agency. Although that didn't happen, Mike and Suzanne’s relationship continues to develop.

When the pair drove to Malibu to look for some property for Mike to buy, he also bought a gift for Suzanne, which was a carton of cigarettes. They soon began dating and tied the knot in 1965. The ceremony was attended by their family and loved ones.

After a few peaceful years, things began getting complicated between Mike and Suzanne as she was allegedly heavily involved in LSD. Reports state that things got so serious that Suzanne was seen having conversations with the devil while tripping. She later tried to pass it off as a case of indigestion.

As Mike and Suzanne’s marriage began falling apart, she allegedly had an affair with the singer's cousin, Dennis Wilson. The former couple decided to part ways in 1968, and it was during the divorce proceedings that Mike revealed Dennis had bedded his wife. Beach Boys' former member Bruce Johnston also testified against Suzanne's affair with Dennis at the court hearing, which awarded Mike custody of their children.

Since Mike Love’s divorce from Suzanne, he has married thrice. He got married to Tamara Fitch in 1971, and they divorced in 1977. He then married Catherine Linda Martinez, and the two were together from 1981 to 1984. He is currently married to Jacqueline Piesen, and they have been together since April 24, 1994.

Mike Love is facing serious health challenges

Mike Love joined the Beach Boys on stage during their recent show in Cincinnati, Ohio, despite “facing serious health challenges.” He was helped on stage by his son, Christian Love, and John Stamos. John had previously informed the audience that Mike has been going through some health issues, “but he would not miss tonight.” He said:

“It’s what he loves the most. He loves the audience, he loves the music. He knows how important it is to all of you. So we’re all here to support him and give him as much love as we can.”

Mike Love remained seated for his performance. He had a microphone positioned on the stand before him and sang backup vocals. He also thanked the audience for coming to the show.
