After Gaga and her fiance, Michael Polansky, confirmed the birth of their child earlier this month, new reports revealed that it's a baby girl named Rose Bean Polansky.

The couple's daughter was reportedly born in June 2026, months before news of her birth became public. While fans have been celebrating the new parents, a report from TMZ has also revealed that Gaga and Polansky reportedly used a surrogate to welcome their daughter.

According to TMZ, Gaga and Polansky welcomed their daughter through surrogacy, something that the internet was already wondering about since the baby news. The outlet reported that Rose Bean Polansky was born on June 9, 2026.

The news of Gaga's motherhood first emerged on September 11, 2026, when she was photographed holding her baby while out with Polansky and a friend in Northern California. PEOPLE and TMZ later confirmed that the singer and Polansky had secretly welcomed their first child. The couple has kept their family life largely private, and neither has publicly confirmed the baby's name or sex.

The reason behind the reported surrogacy has not been disclosed. While reports cited Gaga's long history of fibromyalgia, the singer has not said that the condition influenced how she welcomed her child. There is no confirmed information establishing a connection between her health history and the reported decision.

According to the birth certificate obtained by TMZ, Rose was born on June 9, 2026, at 11:19 p.m. PT at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. The outlet also reported that Dr. Robert Katz delivered the baby. The celebrity doctor has previously treated notable names like Ciara and Russell Wilson.

Although Gaga and Polansky have not publicly confirmed their daughter's name, reports say the baby is named Rose Bean Polansky, inspired by La Vie En Rose, the song Gaga famously performed in the 2018 film A Star Is Born. The singer also has a rose tattoo on her spine, accompanied by the song's title. The middle name Bean reportedly pays tribute to Carl Bean, the activist who inspired Gaga's hit song Born This Way, according to a PEOPLE source.

Gaga's desire to have children is known to anyone who has followed her journey over the years. Years before Polansky came into the picture, the singer had said in a 2019 YouTube interview with NikkieTutorials that having babies was part of her plans for the future. More recently, in an interview that aired in October 2025 on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Gaga described motherhood as a role she hoped to take on. She said:

"I would like to do many things. All of these things are open. But what I really want is to be a mom. That's my next starring role, I hope."

A source close to the singer told PEOPLE that Gaga was happy and that becoming a mother had always been important to her. The insider added that she was ready to slow down after her tour wrapped in April 2026. The source described Gaga "doesn't want to miss any of it," and she and Polansky are adjusting to life with their newborn.

Lady Gaga and Michael Polansky reportedly first met at a charity-related event connected to billionaire tech investor Sean Parker. According to Page Six, the duo might have actually known each other since 2019 because they had both attended events hosted by Parker at his Los Angeles home.

Polansky, an entrepreneur and Harvard graduate, later spent time with Gaga at her Malibu home during the COVID-19 pandemic. The couple announced their engagement in 2024, when Gaga introduced him as her fiancé while speaking with French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal at the Paris Olympics.
