Akshaye Khanna Exits From Drishyam 3 As He Allegedly Asked Higher Fee Post The Success Of Dhurandhar
As per the recent reports, Akshaye Khanna walked out of 'Drishyam 3' over remuneration and creative differences.

According to recent reports, Akshaye Khanna demanded a remuneration hike after the success of Dhurandhar, which didn’t sit well with the makers. In addition to a fee hike, Akshaye also suggested a few changes to his on-screen look for Drishyam 3. All these demands from Akshaye allegedly led to some disagreements, after which he decided to exit from the project.
Akshaye Khanna’s ruthless character, ‘Rehman Dakait’, in Dhurandhar
Aditya Dhar’s most-awaited film, Dhurandhar, has been hogging the limelight due to the splendid performances of each and every character. Apart from all the characters, it was Akshaye Khanna who stood apart. The actor portrays the role of popular gangster, 'Rehman Dakait', a powerful politician and d**g smuggler. Sharing details about hiring Akshaye for this role, casting director Mukesh Chhabra told Moneycontrol that Akshaye’s aura and unique charm brought authenticity to the character.
People have been calling 2025 Akshaye Khanna's year, as he cemented his name in the industry once again with roles in Dhurandhar and Chhava. In both movies, his role was inspired by real-life characters such as 'Aurangzeb' and 'Rehman Dakait', and his skills show how well he connected with the characters he played.
Akshaye Khanna's co-star recalls slapping the actor during the shooting of Dhuandhar
During a podcast with Abhishek Pali, Dhurandhar actor Aditya Uppal, who played 'Omar Haider', said he was hesitant at first because Akshaye Khanna was a senior actor and he had to slap him. Aditya shared that when he was first shooting, he lightly slapped Akshaye, prompting the actor to ask him to slap him even harder. Recalling what exactly happened, Aditya shared:

"When I hit him for the first time, obviously I was a little taken aback, I thought of doing it softly. He shouldn’t get hurt for real because it was also a compact space. Van was not even moving, people were just shaking it during the shoot. Aditya sir asked me to go for it. In fact, Akshaye sir told me, ‘Tez se maaro, main gir nahi raha hu (Hit me properly, I am not falling)’. When he said that the second time, then I hit him properly and went all out.”
