Hardik once revealed in an interview that he had developed a connection with Mahieka because she loved cricket.

Reports say Hardik Pandya and Mahieka Sharma started dating in 2025. In an interview with Rediff.com, Hardik had once credited Mahieka for making him discover his love for cricket and helping him take his batting to the next level. Hardik shared that when he started to talk about cricket to her, he felt very connected to her and mentioned:

"I took some time in my life to figure out how to bring that out. That's when Mahieka came into my life. We started talking about the sport and how to bring that child back. She helped me rediscover that excitement for the game that I always had. I went behind the scenes, worked really hard, and had a good amount of batting sessions."

Hardik Pandya further revealed that there were days when he practised on the cricket field for like six to seven hours. He had revealed of going to the National Cricket Academy and used to practice from 3.30 pm to 12.30 am. Hardik used to be the last person who used to leave the cricket field after the lights were turned off. Hardik was always a cricket geek and was always focused on his bowling skills. The cricketer had revealed:

"I have always had a lot of confidence in my bowling, but batting was something that was very close to my heart. After the last IPL, I realised that I really wanted to play to Hardik’s full potential. I think until now, I haven’t utilised more than 40 per cent of my batting potential, and that is genuinely honest feedback. What I know as a cricketer, what I imagine, what I manifest, and how I practice, have not translated into performance by more than 40 per cent."
